Our Story
Thirty-four years on the front line of Australian security — and one simple question: why is the software always the weakest link?
It started at 18
William stepped into the security industry at eighteen. Night shifts, venue doors, building patrols, incident after incident. Now fifty-one, he has spent 34 years seeing the industry from every side — as a guard, a supervisor, and a business owner answering to clients.
The same complaints, year after year
Across every company and every platform, the frustrations never changed:
- Systems that went down mid-shift, right when guards needed to clock in
- Technical issues nobody could fix at 2 am
- Clients chasing answers about incidents that were written on paper or lost in text messages
- No clear proof of when guards actually started and finished
- Compliance documents and licences scattered across inboxes and filing cabinets
- Scrambling to pull records together when police asked for incident details
Why SEKKI exists
William built SEKKI because the people doing the hardest job deserve tools that just work. One platform where guards sign on by QR or timestamped photo, reports are submitted from the field with evidence, patrol scans are logged, and licences and compliance documents live in one place.
When a client asks "what happened last night?", the answer should be on screen in seconds — with real timestamps, not guesswork.
William writes the code himself
SEKKI is not run by a vendor several time zones away. William is also the developer, so when a client or guard reports a problem it lands directly on his desk and is fixed as fast as it can be done — not logged into a support queue, handed between teams and left waiting for the next scheduled release. That is the difference between a platform built by someone who has stood the shift and one built by someone who hasn't.
Keeping everyone honest
Security works best when every party can see the same record. Guard hours, attendance, reports and compliance are recorded as they happen, so firms, clients and venues work from one source of truth. When police or licensing regulators such as SLED need information, firms have organised records ready to hand over.
That's why we encourage every client who hires security to ask their contractors to run on SEKKI — so guard hours, reports and compliance can be tracked transparently across every site. Client accounts are free.
Built by the industry, for the industry
SEKKI is an independent platform. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any police force, regulator or government agency, and it never claims a licence is verified without an authorised source. It is simply the platform William wished he'd had for the last 34 years.
William — developer of SEKKI. Platform, features and fixes come straight from him.
